Catch a Rising Star!
Clean Sweep Auctions is proud to report that our sales are far ahead of last year’s pace and we are currently seeking consignments of items valued at $500 or more for our future auctions. Why consign with Clean Sweep Auctions? Marketing Experience
Consistency of Message We have always been about real stuff at real prices. We don’t sell faddish material, we don’t get involved with brand new graded cards that bring outlandish prices. We simply offer quality material at fair prices and that is why we succeed. Integrity of Auction
Flexibility Because we run monthly auctions with different themes, we can offer a qualitatively different level of service than our competitors. Example: a consignor has a near set of 1952 Topps baseball, missing Mantle and 50 other cards. We auctioned all of the high numbers as individual lots and sold the other cards by series. NO ONE WORKS HARDER TO MAXIMIZE YOUR VALUE. WE DON’T MAKE BIDDERS BUY THAT WHICH THEY DO NOT NEED! Images ** Larger and better image of all of your items, particularly on the internet. Better lotting allows for better images. Media Exposure ** We have been featured on CNBC, The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, CBS, NY1, Fox, New York area cable channels, Newsweek magazine, Bloomberg Investments and radio shows throughout the country. Ethical Conflicts It has become standard rhetoric for major auction houses to claim they are not “dealers” and that there are lots of conflicts because someone is auctioning off something they own. There are no conflicts in a Clean Sweep Auction as consignor lots come first and there are no ethical dilemmas regarding consignors bidding on their own lots. However, we feel that mega-auction houses have lots of conflicts: for example, Six 1955 Topps baseball card sets in a single auction? 4,000 1957 Topps baseball cards as one lot? 150 team-signed baseballs as one lot? It is never good to try to put a square peg in a round hole: many of the auction houses simply lot things up with no regard to anything except trying to have sales average $5,000 per lot.For some items that is great, but much of the time items are simply sold on a wholesale level to other dealers and the consignor is left holding the bag. Consignment Fees There is a 10% commission on lots that sell for a final bid of $500 or more and a 15% commission on lots that sell for less than $500. We charge no other fees. We generally pay the cost of shipping items to us from consignors. There are no fees for photography, descriptions or authentication. We pay for the cost of authenticating all autograph items via PSA/DNA. Payment Terms We pay consignors 30 days after the close of an auction, presuming that we have been paid. Payment is in the form of a check sent via the mail. |
